What is a Graduate Certificate?

A graduate certificate can be awarded in as little as two semesters since it is a shorter term of study in a specialized topic area. Students who earn a certificate complete four courses or 12 to 14 credit hours in a communication specialization of their choice. UF CJC Online graduate certificates feature introductory and core courses that give students the opportunity to learn new skills. The certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the four courses.

Certificate courses can sometimes be used to satisfy degree requirements for a master’s degree dependent upon the institution’s requirements. Any of the UF CJC Online certificates listed below can be used to satisfy UF CJC Online master’s requirements. To be considered to continue as a master’s student upon completion of a certificate, a student must submit a master’s application.
